We have five nursery classes: Ladybirds, Caterpillars, Butterflies, Dragonflies and Fireflies. Caterpillars and Ladybirds, our youngest, are for children aged two to three and a half years old. For some of these children, it is the very first separation from their parents and main carers, so our practitioners provide a very warm and welcoming environment that helps and eases the settling in process. Every child is allocated a key worker who builds a strong relationship with the child and family to make sure we provide the best possible start to their education journey.
Our pre-school classes are called Dragonflies and Fireflies. We continue with a very child-centred approach to their education, however we encourage more independence and self-control in order to prepare them for the next stage of formal education.
The classrooms are divided into areas of development that cover all the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We have a creative approach to the planning of our activities so that the children feel excited and stimulated to take part. Our learning environment provides opportunities for the children to independently select the activities of their choice.
The learning environments for all of our children are welcoming, bright, spacious areas where the children feel free to explore, both inside and outside. This ensures that the children grow to be inquisitive and responsible learners.
